Denver Startup Week will provide many opportunities to learn about AI, the companies driving it forward, and those entrepreneurs making innovative use of it. Although DSW’s focus is startups and not AI, there are a good number of AI-focused events out of the approximately 65 official DSW events this week. On top of that, there are the 200 or so presentations and other gatherings that fall under the umbrella of “community events.”
And yet, for the AI community, one particular event stands out for being a little different from most. Called “AI Innovation for Everyone,” its purpose is not simply to provide a forum for education, promotion or networking, but to be a matchmaker of sorts between those who are experts in AI – or at least, who are experts in a specific area of the wide-ranging field – and those who actively want to know and learn more.
“AI Innovation for Everyone” was the idea of Daniel Ritchie, the founder of Denver’s Brain Wave Collective. When asked about the inspiration for this event, he said, “It felt to me that this was something that Denver Startup Week needed. Our event is unique because we are intentionally bringing people together across various disciplines for the purpose of supporting the growth and development of others. Participants will be able to draw from a depth of expertise in creativity and artistic qualities, the use of novel products and solutions, the business of AI, data, technology, research, and more.”
Ritchie was being literal when he named the event “AI Innovation for Everyone,” and he expects the event will attract a widely diverse group of attendees, some of whom may have no experience at all with AI. He indicated that he doesn’t want anyone to feel that they don’t know enough about AI to attend, and he wants everyone to feel welcome.
To that point, Ritchie has signed up a group of experts with a variety of AI-focused experience, and nearly all of them have agreed to be identified as being in sync with the event’s “beginner-friendly” objective. As the mission statement makes clear, “We are promoting this as an event open and accessible to everyone. We expect that we may have attendees who have never used AI or don't know much about AI, and we are excited to have a great group of AI experts that beginners – and other experts, by the way – can feel free to talk to about their questions, issues, and challenges.”
Experts at the event will be found in eight distinct areas of artificial intelligence, including AI Business & Strategy, AI Tools & Products, Creativity & AI, Deep Tech & Research, Education & Academia, Entrepreneurs & Startups, Human-Centered AI, and Tech & Data Science Experts.
“AI Innovation for Everyone” will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at 2590 Welton St., in the offices of Venture X North. Space is limited, and it’s recommended that attendees RSVP on the event’s DSW page.
