Featured AI Job: Are you an aspiring AI innovator with an interest in county government? JeffCo is looking for a Generative AI Innovation Fellow

Jefferson County, Colorado has just announced a one-year position in their Innovation Fellowship Program for a Generative AI Innovation Fellow. The County describes the program as one that “equips aspiring innovators with the skills to transform government services through new technologies and solutions.”

The job listing asks, “Are you passionate about improving the way government operates? Are you interested in multiplying your impact by empowering others to do the same?”

According to JeffCo, the Fellow will lead the county’s work around GenAI: "This role places you at the forefront of cutting-edge technology evaluations and pilots, driving transformative change across county operations. A successful candidate will drive policy recommendations, promote responsible and ethical use of generative AI tools, and research, identify, and lead pilot projects.”

Essential duties of the job include the following:

  • Lead the exploration, evaluation, and implementation of generative AI technologies that can enhance county operations and service delivery
  • Research, identify, and improve current policy, guidelines, and best practice recommendations to ensure responsible and ethical use of generative AI tools
  • Define, develop, and deliver resources and training programs to upskill government employees on the use of generative AI tools and methodologies

A bachelor's degree is preferred, but not essential, and no work experience is required. The target hiring range for this position is $29.00 - $33.00/hourly.
